Duties & Responsibilities

This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in petroleum transportation operations or analysis, and is responsible for:

  1. Working in a team-based, project-driven environment and delivering high quality results to strict deadlines
  2. Conducting analyses of petroleum import logistics, and pipeline and marine transportation systems
  3.  Formulating and developing LP-based supply & distribution models necessary to conduct petroleum logistics and distribution systems analyses.
  4. Performing analyses of pipeline and marine distribution capabilities and port and terminal operations, to document system capabilities and identify opportunities for enhancements.
  5. Communicating effectively (both written and oral) with all levels of the organization and with clients. Writing technical reports and preparing (and making) presentations, that summarize the results, conclusions, and recommendations of studies and analyses, for a variety of audiences including upper management and client organizations’ executive and technical staff.

Experience & Qualifications

This position requires a minimum of five years of experience in petroleum transportation logistics operations or analysis preferably with major operating companies. Petroleum refinery operations experience is also desirable. This individual must have comprehensive knowledge of petroleum pipeline and marine transportation systems and operations. The ability to formulate and develop sophisticated LP-based petroleum supply & distribution models, using tools like LINGO and SD_PIMS, is a critical requirement of this position. Some formal coursework in optimization math techniques is helpful.

Education: A Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering (or Mechanical Engineering) from an accredited institution is the minimum academic requirement for this position. Formal undergraduate coursework in engineering optimization mathematics is highly desirable.
