Duties & Responsibilities

This position requires at least ten years of experience in the petroleum industry and oil & gas markets, and will be responsible for:

  1. Working collaboratively in fast paced, project-driven, team environment and delivering quality results.
  2. Conducting studies involving world oil markets, US markets and petroleum product markets. Doing analyses of specific oil pricing and indexing methodologies.
  3. Providing consulting expertise in oil market trading and oil valuation support.
  4. The development of methodologies and models for assessing fair market prices for specific crude streams under given world oil market supply-demand scenarios.
  5. Assessing the use of various crude oil benchmarks and price indexing methods for oil sales.
  6. Communicating effectively (both written and oral) with all levels of the organization and with clients. Writing technical reports and preparing (and making) presentations, that summarize the results, conclusions, and recommendations of studies and analyses, for a variety of audiences including upper management and client organizations’ executive and technical staff.

Experience & Qualifications

Minimum of ten years of experience in the petroleum industry and oil & gas markets. This should include at least five years of experience in oil trading operations with extensive knowledge and expertise in oil pricing and use of financial instruments such as options and futures. Must be capable of performing sophisticated petroleum markets analyses and studies, and have demonstrated experience developing and using robust commodity assessment/ valuation tools. This individual must be ‘well grounded’ in quantitative analytical techniques and have at least five ‘continuous’ years of experience of direct application of those skills to the crude oil and petroleum markets.

Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline like engineering or business, from an accredited university, is the minimum requirement for this position. An advanced degree in Finance or Business Administration is preferred.
